Dr. Baraka W. Perez, also known as "Dr. B," is an Advanced Practice Medical Psychologist in Louisiana authorized to prescribe psychotropic medications. With 30 years of clinical experience with children, adolescents and adults, she is highly skilled in multiple fields of psychology. Clients value her adaptability, creativity, and commitment to their care. Dr. B is devoted to her profession, passionate about supporting her clients, and ensures exceptional service.
Dr. B extends her dedication to behavioral health through her guided meditation service, teaching the art of calming the mind and embracing the moment. With her signature program, "Be Well with Dr. B (www.bewellwithdrb.com)" she empowers women to prioritize themselves and take up space. Through her YouTube channel, "The Breakdown," Dr. B presents mental health topics in a relatable and lighthearted way. This blend of services allows her to reach wider audiences while promoting self-care and fostering meaningful connections.
As a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Dr. B is dedicated to serving her community. She invests her time and energy into various national organizations. Additionally, she is a board member of The COOL Cooperative, a local non-profit focused on exceptional opportunities for middle and high school students in the film. As a mental health advocate, Dr. B has appeared on numerous media platforms, spoken at various conferences, and organized charity events to combat the stigma surrounding mental illness.
